To mark National Drawing Day the National Craft Gallery is holding a fun day of drawing workshops in the Castle Yard and National Craft Galleries. These drawing workshops will involve the use of textiles and stitch drawing and will form the basis for an exciting day of alternative drawing techniques and mark making.

Saturday May 22nd, 2pm – 4pm
Outdoor project - Make Your Mark
Hundreds of flags flying on long willow rods aligned to Tibetan prayer flags, said to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom to both the flag planter and those in the vicinity, this is a unique opportunity to participate in a large, innovative installation in the Castle Yard by artists Marie Brett & Nic Piper.
Each flag bearer will be invited to draw their personal auspicious symbol, invocation, prayer or animal totem directly onto the flag before planting it into the ground, joining the larger community of intentions. Transitory in nature, the artwork will reflect a moments contemplation, an intention or wish, carried by the wind.
Saturday May 22nd, 12pm – 4pm, The Castle Yard
Not So Still Life
Bring along your sketchbook and do some observational drawing of the work in the Irish Craft Portfolio. Self guided.
Saturday May 22nd, all day
