Papermaking Weekend - 22 - 23 August

PAPERMAKING WEEKEND at The Studio, Bennettsbridge, Co. Kilkenny

I will be teaching 2 workshops on Hand Papermaking Techniques over a weekend:
22 August (Sat): Hand Papermaking Techniques - using mixed pulps of recycled materials and natural plant fibres of cotton, abaca, esparto.
23 August (Sun): Silk Fibre Paper making - from various raw silk fibres (cocoon strippings, throwsters fibres, had-dyed silk tops etc..). Also included in this course is a small silk fibre bowl sculpted on a mould.

Both courses are suitable and can be tailored for the complete beginner as well as for those with some previous experience - so join us to refresh and/or explore new ideas!
A great selection of natural fibres, handmade paper samples, paper and fibre art works will be on display at the Studio as well as basic materials and starter packs will be available for sale.

Workshops start at 10am and finish at around 4.30 - 5 pm.

The programme also incudes a short talk and slide show on my visit to Tasmania, where I participated in the 20th IAPMA Congress (International Association of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artists).
